Configuration

Open the configuration menu by tapping the plus sign in the lower left corner of the screen.

Cameras

There are two camera options available.
To use the fish camera, tap the menu entry “Fish”; then tap the desired fish to activate this camera mode.
You can activate the auto camera by tapping the menu entry “Auto”.

Actions

Activate the “Knock” mode to knock on the glass and annoy your fish.
To feed your fish, tap the “Feed” symbol and activate the feeding mode. Then tap any area on the screen to drop food into the aquarium.
You can deactivate the modes by either tapping the icon again or by using the shortcut in the upper left corner of the screen.
To switch from day to night mode, tap the light symbol.

Swap

There are five tanks available.
Select the one you like to watch.

Tank

In this section, you can configure your fish, the aquarium’s background and its accessories.

Fish

Use swipe gestures to select the species and the add/subtract buttons to select the quantities of your fish.
You can add up to 16 creatures.
There is only one crab and one starfish allowed per tank.
To automatically populate your tank, tap “random”.
To remove all fish tap “clear all”.

Deco

In deco mode you can place a selected item in the tank, tap the item and drag it to the desired position in the tank.
All creatures are hidden in deco mode.
If an item is colored red (indicating lack of room to place the object), wait for the color to subside before placing the item.

To automatically place decoration, tap “random”.
Tap the “add deco” button in the upper right corner of the screen to add decoration.

Use swipe gestures to select a decoration item and the add/subtract buttons to select the quantities.
You can add up to 8 items.
To remove all items, tap “clear all”.

Gravel

Tap “Gravel” to change the substrate in your tank.

Back

Tap “Back” to change the background.

Own

Tap “Own” to select a background from your photo library.
The image will be automatically cropped and scaled to fit.

TV-Out

Connect your iPad, iPhone 4+, or iPod touch 4+ with your TV using, e.g., Apple’s HDMI cable.
The device will switch the view to your TV and show a configuration menu.
Now you can move the camera, swap aquariums, activate auto camera, and switch from day to night using your device.
Unplug the cable to return the view to your device.

How to care for your fish

Fish need time and food to grow.
They won’t grow if they are hungry.
For the maximum growth rate you should feed your fish every 8 hours.
Keep your fish happy by adding decoration items.

How to reach higher levels

The only way to gain experience and to level-up is to buy, breed or sell fish.
Advanced fish (higher level) generate more experience than starter fish.

How to earn money

Fish Farm uses two currencies: coins and cowry dollar.
Some fish and decoration items require cowry dollar to be bought.
In the Exchange you can exchange coins or real money into cowry dollar.
When selling fish or items you will only receive coins even if you paid cowry dollar.
The exchange rate is about 1 cowry dollar to 10 coins.
To earn coins you should sell adult fish only.

How to breed

At least two fish of one species have to be present in the aquarium.
The selected fish need to have at least 50% of their size.
A selected fish and its mate can only breed once within 24 hours.
You need enough coins to be allowed to breed fish.
Breeding fish is less expensive than buying fish.

How to Care for Your Freshwater Tank:

Menu

Open the configuration menu by tapping the lower border of the screen.

To use the fish camera, tap the menu entry “Cam 1″. Then tap the desired fish to activate the camera mode. You can activate the auto camera by tapping menu entry “Cam 2″.

To knock on the glass, activate the knocking feature in the configuration menu. To switch from day to night mode, tap the light symbol in the configuration menu. The button “Swap” allows you to switch between your three available aquariums.

Shake the device for about one second to drop some food into your aquarium. Feed the fish to let them grow over time. But don’t worry, they won’t die if you forget to feed them.

To configure device orientation, sound options and to buy the Premium version, tap the Settings button. To play background music from your iTunes library while viewing your aquarium, open your desired playlist in the iPod application prior to starting the app. You can then switch between songs, pause and control volume.

In the Premium version, you can change background, gravel and the items in your aquarium. Tap “Aquarium Setup” to enter the respective configuration screen.

Fish Setup

Tap the “Add” icon to enter the fish selection screen. Choose the species you want to add by using the arrows. Each species has a specific weight. The smaller the weight, the more fish fit in your tank.

To see the actual growth and feed statistics of your fish, tap the “Select” icon in the main menu. You can select the desired fish using the arrows or by tapping on it. To remove a fish, tap the trash icon.

Control

The controls are easy to understand. Tap the left or right side of the screen to open the menus. At the right menu, you can activate the tap actions knock or feed, start the auto camera mode, and turn the lights on or off. The left menu contains the setup screens and a button to swap to the next aquarium.

On the first page in the aquarium configuration, you can select substrate and background. Depending on your choice, the background remains fixed or rotates with the view. The second page allows you to place static items in your aquarium. Select one item, drag it to some position you want and drop it there. If the crosshair is colored red, there is a collision with other items; so you have to alter the dropping position. A selected item can be rotated by pressing the respective button. Already placed items can be moved using the touchscreen. To delete an item, simply drag it to the trash symbol.

In the fish configuration screen, you can choose fishes and drag them to the slots. To remove a fish, drag it to the trash symbol. You may create an automatic fish setup and add the crab by pressing the respective buttons.

The miscellaneous configuration screen allows you to setup the sound and accelerometer options and whether a help screen should be displayed after starting the application.

All words with at least four letters and no more than eight letters are considered valid words. There is a language selection for English, German and French. The game only supports the 26 standard letters. Special letters need to be replaced, for example, Ä must be replaced by AE and À must be replaced by A. You receive points whenever you decide to destroy a valid word. The more blocks of letters you destroy at one time, the more points you receive. The game offers three levels of difficulty.

Control & Gameplay

Blocks are controlled by tapping them and moving your finger on the touch screen. Blocks flashing white indicate a valid word. You can choose to destroy an entire flashing block of letters by double tapping it.

By double tapping the top of the screen (score area), you can create new blocks of letters. The pause button is located at the upper right corner. Sound, language and display options can be customized in the settings menu.

It is on you to wisely utilize armament, radar, and the shields of your gun turret to fight your enemies and fulfil your mission. Keep an eye on the energy level to avoid being damaged by your opponents and everything else that is out there.

Opponents

Standard enemy spaceships are equipped with protective shields. You need to destroy these shields completely before such a spaceship takes damage from your fire. Kamikaze enemy spaceships try to fly suicide attacks against you after some time of fighting. You should target kamikazes with high priority as you cannot stand lots of their hits. All enemy spaceships will fire at you. Their skill and precision changes according to the level of the game. Your shields protect you against enemy fire. However, it is useless against hits by kamikazes and asteroids.

Asteroids directly target your gun turret and should be destroyed quickly. Take care, asteroids might scatter when being hit. Your damage when being hit by an asteroid depends on its size.

Control & Gameplay

You can rotate your gun turret by either using the touchscreen or the accelerometer of your device. You should activate the entry Touch Only in the menu when using your touchscreen. If Touch Only is not activated, the gun rotates according to the accelerometer. Calibration of the accelerometer to the neutral position is available through the Calibrate entry in the menu. You can fire by tapping anywhere on the screen when using accelerometer control. In Touch Only mode, you can fire by tapping within the crosshair. The turret automatically aims at targets inside the crosshair area. The damage you cause to a target depends on the distance of your target: The closer the target, the more damage you cause. The damage also depends on the position of a target in your crosshair: The more a target is centered in the crosshair, the more damage you cause. As protection against enemy fire, you can activate your shield by tapping one of the corresponding buttons. Double tapping one of the buttons allows you to activate or deactivate the automatic shield mode. Within this mode, your shield is automatically activated in case of imminent hits.

Your gun has limited power resources only, which recharge slowly over time. Firing, shield and automatic shield mode consume power. The auto shield should thus only be activated under heavy attack. Distant opponents are harder to hit than close opponents. It might be more appropriate to wait fighting opponents until they come close. Fast recharge of power can be achieved by positioning the crosshair into the sun. Under heavy attack this might become a last option for recharging and keeping the gun ready for battle.

To identify your opponents, you should use the radar system at the upper right of the screen. All opponents are marked by points – the distance between you and an opponent is the closer, the closer it comes to the center of your radar. The position of the sun is indicated by a symbol at the border of your radar system.

How to Care for Your Saltwater Reef:

Menu

To use the fish camera, tap the menu entry “Cam F,” then tap the desired fish to activate the camera mode. You can activate the auto camera automatically by tapping the menu entry “Cam A.”

To feed the fish, tap the feeding symbol to activate feeding mode, then double-tap any area on the screen to drop food into the aquarium. To knock on the glass, activate the knocking feature in the configuration menu. To switch from day to night mode, tap the light symbol in the configuration menu. To configure your fish, sound, and other items, tap the setup button.

Fish Setup

Fish Setup allows you to customize the population of fish in your aquarium.

Use swipe gestures to select the type and the add/subtract buttons to select the quantities of your fish. Each fish species has a specific weight depending on fish size, and as aquariums have fixed capacities, the total amount of fish your tank can hold depends on the combination of species you select. For fish highly aggressive against their own species, there are also limits as to how many you can have in your tank. To automatically populate your tank, tap the “auto” setting. To remove the fish population in your tank, tap “clear.”

Global Setup

Global Setup allows you to configure the sound and device orientation settings.

To play background music from your iTunes library while viewing your aquarium, open your desired playlist in the iPod application prior to starting MyReef 3D. You can then switch between songs, pause, or control volume from MyReef 3D. If the iPod is paused or stopped, the bubbling sound of the tank starts automatically.

Setup

Interior Setup allows you to customize your aquarium’s background and accessories.

Browse these items by using the arrow buttons. To place a selected item in the tank, tap the item and drag it to the desired position in the tank. If an item is colored red (indicating lack of room to place the subject), wait for the color to subside before placing it.
